Tasting notes: Honey-floral flavors, bright and alive, honey-tinged cream. Great for grilled fish, chicken or scallops. Aromatics of pear, citrus, and spring greens. The palate unfolds into a spectrum of apple and pear fruits and crushed fennel. The racy natural acidity is complemented by a texture that is round while still being dry and light. Refreshing, direct, with the focused acidity and lingering finish that define Eyrie Pinot Gris.
Production notes: Hand-harvested organic grapes. Organic farming organic, vines are old, yields kept low, yeasts are native, alcohol level kept lower, acids balanced. Winemaking non-intervention. New oak is very minimal to non-existant. The achievement is age-worthy, characterful wines of finesse, elegance and food friendliness. The Eyrie Vineyards was named for the home (eye-ree) of red-tailed hawks that share the Lett's vineyard land in the Dundee Hills.
