The Horse Heaven Hills are a part of the flood-shaped, volcanic landscape of the Columbia Valley. It is one of the warmest grape growing areas in all of the Pacific Northwest. Dead Canyon Ranch was named after these temperatures and fierce winds. It is also a prime area to grow luscious grapes such as the ones in this bottle of wine. 50% syrah, 20% cabernet sauvignon, 17% merlot, 8% malbec, 3% petit verdot, and 2% Mourvedre, it has flavors of blackberry and blueberry jam with hints of ripe plums and finishes with hints of vanilla. Pair it with flank steak in a chimchurri sauce, feta stuffed turkey burgers, or a just an assortment of hard cheeses and crusty bread.
