The name Chapoutier is associated with many well-regarded projects around the wine world but the Rhone Valley is where the magic really happens. Belleruche is Maison M. Chapoutier's representation of what the valley has to offer and this superbly synchronized blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Clairette, and Bourboulenc displays the charm of those grapes in that place. Mouth-filling and fleshy yet still energetic and alive, its aromas suggest orchard fruits and Iris while the palate offers subtle pear and stone fruits with an echo of anise seed. All of these flavors are unobtrusive and integrated to form a complete and seamless experience. When a white of substance is called for but an oaky Chardonnay is too much, Belleruche will fit the bill nicely.
